ABSTRACT
Objetivo: refletir sobre o protagonismo da enfermagem como "heróis" no enfrentamento da pandemia. Metodologia: artigo de reflexão baseado na literatura cientifica, bem como no site do Conselho Federal de Enfermagem (COFEN). Resultados: a imagem atual da Enfermagem ainda se perpetua, a relação direta com a religião, submissão e silêncio, que faz alusão às atividades iniciais da profissão realizadas em instituições de devoção em que a abnegação em prol do cuidado com o próximo era peculiar. Com o "boom" do covid-19, a enfermagem passou de desprestigiada para protagonistas. Recebendo, inclusive, uma salve de palmas, chamando-os de "heróis" e "anjos". Contudo, é preciso que enxerguem a enfermagem como uma categoria vital à saúde, que necessita de regulamentação na sua jornada de trabalho. Considerações finais: assim sendo, o olhar tem que ir além de heróis e da distribuição de palmas, vendo-a como profissão baseada na ciência que merece valorização e melhores condições de trabalho. Além disso, enfatizando a necessidade da construção da autonomia e sua notoriedade cientifica.
Objective: to reflect on the role of nursing as "heroes" in facing the pandemic. Methodology: It is a reflection article based on scientific literature, as well as on the website of the Federal Nursing Council (COFEN). Results: the current image of Nursing is still perpetuated, the direct relationship with religion, submission and silence, which alludes to the initial activities of the profession carried out in institutions of devotion in which selflessness in favor of caring for others was peculiar. With the covid-19 boom, nursing went from being discredited to protagonists. Even receiving a round of applause, calling them "heroes" and "angels". However, it is necessary that they see nursing as a vital category for health, which needs regulation in their workday. Final considerations: therefore, the look has to go beyond heroes and the distribution of clapping hands, seeing it as a profession based on science that deserves appreciation and better working conditions. In addition, emphasizing the need to build autonomy and its scientific notoriety.
